Jackson speaks the truth.

I didn't have much luck getting an action shot of Jackson during his Christmas basketball tourney so I'll add this cute still shot. He played really hard and had a lot of enthusiasm but they were completely outmatched. He asked me why and I just told him that our team was about fun and trying our best, so he didn't need to worry about the rest. I promise you that Jackson will not be as big as those other kids when he is in middle school.

I know everyone thinks their kid is a genius, so I'll spare you the argument and give you the proof. Monday, when we rear-ended someone at a redlight, he says: "That guy must be from Alabama cause the light turned green and he just sat there."

This AM before school, he overheard me on the phone with my boss, who called to ask how I do a certain function. I told him the steps and said I'd email him a screen shot. No big deal. Then...
Jackson: Why doesn't your boss know how to do that?
Me: He doesn't do the same stuff I do every day.
J: what does he do?
Me: Well, he does manager stuff...
J: How do you know?
Good point.

After we dropped Wilson off at school earlier this week, he asked me what he would do if I had a wedding. I tried not to laugh, and told him "well, you could serve grown up drinks." He replied, "Mom, rings?" I just told him that it wasn't likely to come up so don't worry.

While reading Curious George this week, he also informed me that he learned what "gay" means on the bus last year. Related note: I've started asking him after his prayers every night if there is anything he wants to ask or tell me. There's always something, and it's usually goofy. but one day he'll have something big- to him at least- and I want him to be in the habit of talking to me about it.
