~Milestone~

Wilson is spending his first night in his own room tonight. We've spent a couple of weeks talking about what a big boy he is since he'll be moving up to the next class at school. When we mentioned his own room, he was excited so I went for it. It's certainly not all finished but the bed is there and so is he. So far so good!

Twins?

Despite a busy Saturday, we were up for 8 o'clock church on Sunday. It must be so nice to be so effortlessly good-looking.

A Valentines Day to love and remember.

We started our weekend early Saturday at the Scout's Pinewood Derby. It's our first derby of course, and Jackson's car design was basic, and the style was low-key. He wanted a Jets' car and when Brett retired the week before, he simply added Leon Washington's #29- no problem! We had low epectations and talked about how it would be a learning experience. But then his car hit the track and went more than 122mph!
He was 2nd in the Tiger Den and 4th for the whole Pack! We move on the the district race February 28.

Before completely soaking up our derby success, we rushed off to Jackson's last basketball game of this season (@ First Evan). I guess he was having an extended adrenaline rush cause he was fierce. He hustled so much, did not hesitate to take the ball from anyone, and even got a blocked shot. I happened to be standing close to a group of dads when that happened and their reactions were priceless. I was so proud! He's too fast for an action shot, but this one is cute.

Having 2 victories by noon can wear you out, so we came home to recharge. And then we headed to the circus. We had a good time as we usually do with the guys.

Then we headed home to hang out with fam and hit the hay!

Sweet Dreams

My fascination with the boys sleeping is pretty well documented. So this is the latest installment. These were taken one night last week after another busy day. Yes, that's Jackson's foot on his pillow so he's turned 180 degrees. Even straight- sleeping Wilson has shifted to use Melody as a pillow.

Gotcha Day!

I only took one pic today- and Jackson was cheating- but it's cute. We had a good day. I kindof overdid the whining about working extra. I am thankful to have a job that allows me to take care of and enjoy the boys, so put in perspective, work is great. Jackson wanted to go to Jason's Deli when we picked up Wilson so that is where we had our family supper/celebration. We got ice cream, then played like we didn't and got desserts to go. It really doesn't matter what we do cause it's always fun to be with the boys.

This picture was taken this AM when they were in my bed. They both get up around 7 and come get in bed with me for a few minutes. In fact, it's a bit of a competition to get there first. Wilson was first this AM, and Jackson said "how long has he been in here?" Jackson has no problem just climbing to the other side of me. When he gets there first tho, Wilson gets a little indignant and goes around to the far side of the bed with a funny, disapproving look on his face. It's odd how they seem jealous of each other but also love each other very much. I love Wilson's little face when he's sleeping hard- like he is in this pic. His little lips in a pout are so sweet!

Jackson's free throws and Wilson's trick.

Jackson has just 2 basketball games remaining and his team has come so far this season. They are really TOUGH! Jackson has no problem taking the ball away from the other team and passing to our big guy in the lane. He's probably the only player on the team that is shy about shooting. They shoot free throws @ half time (each player shoots one and the total made gets added to the score) and this is his from last Saturday. That's envy on his teammates' faces cause he totally made it. Isn't his face completely sweet?!

This is Wilson's "trick" and it's just hilarious. It even makes him laugh! He does it on request so ask him to do his trick next time you see him.

We've been brothers in person for one year now!

Wilson's gotcha day is February 5 so tomorrow makes one year since he physically joined our family. I can't put this year into words, but I can say I've spent the biggest part of this year loving my life and family, counting my blessings, and being thankful. Wilson has blossomed in this family. Jackson has embraced, expanded and exemplified the role of big brother. And I get to be their mom.
